The Dodgers called 20-year-old left-handed pitcher Clayton Kershaw up from double A to make his big league debut Sunday against the Cardinals. Kershaw was the team’s number one draft choice two years ago out of highschool in Dallas, and pitched well with a no decision. He gave up two runs and five hits in six innings while striking out seven and walking one. Continue Reading

Jim Chones was a member of the Lakers NBA championship team in 1980, and now at 58, is a basketball analyst on the Cleveland Cavaliers radio broadcasts. Chones made an interesting observation not long ago. He said, “The best team in our league—–Boston—–is a team of great players who have never won the big game. Kevin Garnett has won four playoff series in 13 years. Paul Pierce and Ray Allen have never been to the NBA Finals.” Continue Reading
