I was pleased to see a short history of my father’s WWII experience and his love of baseball. Thank you for recognizing him. I live in Palmyra, New Jersey, near Philadelphia. I did a google search for my dad and your article came up. I have a website, Daughters of D-Day at www.daughtersofd-day.com where I have information about my dad’s war and postwar experiences. Keep up the interesting work about the sports figures. I am a big Phillies fan—-and my dad actually tried out with the Phillies and the Athletics after the war. Yes, I would, Ted. I would like to see it replaced by an eight-team playoff. If the B-C-S is going to continue to be used, I like a suggestion made by Bob Stoops. Strength of schedule should be returned to the formula. Bob feels that encourages better games early, and I think he is right.
